SPECIAL PROGRAMS OR EVENTS
American Preschool is housed within the American Institute of Gymnastics facility . After children finish their preschool activities, they receive specialized instruction in Gymnastics and Physical Development Activities. In Preschool, children participate in seasonal and holiday programs. Drama, music, and art projects an integral part of American Preschool's curriculum.

PHILOSOPHY
The primary concern of our program is the growth and development of our students through carefully organized physical, cadmic, and fine art activities. Equally important is the satisfaction of the emotional and social needs of each student while interacting with others. We nurture learning traits which carry over into their later lives.

GENERAL INFORMATION
NEWSLETTERS
Parents will receive a weekly newsletter from the classroom teacher and a monthly newsletter from the physical development, and music teachers describing activities and accomplishments, art projects, reports and more!

MONTHLY CALENDAR
Parents will receive a monthly calendar naming upcoming events such as:
~holiday parties ~field trips ~special events

FIELD TRIPS
Seasonal outings are planned throughout the year

BIRTHDAYS
Birthday treats on that "Special Day" may be brought in. One that day, parents are asked to donate a book to the school with their child's name and birthdate on it and we will invite the parent to read that "Special Story" during reading time.

GYMNASTICS:	~all large muscle groups ~large motor skills Incorporating: TUMBLING BEAM BARS VAULT *PIT
OBSTACLE COURSE:	~Development equipment is set up differently each day for children to work on patterning and sequencing. ~Gymnastic skills are incorporated throughout this unit
PARACHUTE GAMES:	~A variety of activities using directional verbal commands.
BALL HANDLING SKILLS:	~throwing ~catching ~bouncing ~dribbling ~hand/eye ~foot/eye
BALANCE WORK:	~Special drills for reading skill enhancement.
OUTDOOR PLAY:	~Occasionally, the children will go outside and play in our play area.
